WOFAN’s specific objectives include to:
- Reach out to rural communities with the aim of providing a forum through which members of these communities would express themselves.
- Encourage members of rural communities to form commodity groups so that they can have adequate access to agriculture, credit and insurance facilities.
- Introduce labour saving technologies (modern farming implements,, use of solar energy e. t. c).
- Enlighten women on the importance of soil, water and agro-forestry conservation.
- Support community development activities through networking, with local groups, non-governmental organizations and relevant government agencies.
- Create awareness and support communities in the areas of health, literacy, childcare development, social mobilization, advocacy and promotion of unity within the larger society.
- Stimulate and encourage community action to fight the spread of HIV and AIDS, stigma and discrimination.
