At the " Food and Nutrition security" training of the UNDP-GEF funded project , where the use of Nutrition Monitoring Wheel to 350 extension agents and health workers , expected to step down in 350 communities, spread across 7 states of Nigeria was launched.

The Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) has commenced training of trainers (ToT) on GAP for 350 Extension Workers from 7 states of Adamawa, Gombe, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa,, Benue and Nasarawa states of Nigeria to enhance Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) and improved family Nutrition, with focus on Rice and production of afflatoxin free groundnut.

2500 bags of groundnut, 500 traditional and modern groundnut oil extraction equipment distributed to 200 women groups across Kano and Katsina state to mark A SCALE UP of women’s project to a more business oriented income generating activities.

The 2019 rainy season input distribution was flagged off with Support to 800 Women and Youth Farmers groups of 30 members by group, with Fertilizers and other inputs such as seeds, seedlings, pre and post environmental pesticides as well as energy-free irrigation Pumps

 A conference was held in Washington DC on 21st of March 2019 marking 2019 World Water Day themed "Supporting Women through Water!" sponsored by Global Water Challenge, USAID, United State Water partnership, ASPEN Institute, GEFT , Coca-Cola Africa Foundation and Global Water 2020 and several other public and private sector-led global water stakeholders.

WOFAN Marked 2019 International  Women Day (IWD) in Kano with the graduation of 50 trainer women trained on production of smokeless charcoal briquettes from agricultural  residues. The women who received the training  were given equipments too and each of them is expected to train 90 other women in thier localities, while the  Byproducts of smokeless charcoal will be used as fertilizer for their crops!
